Salary: £9 per hour


Hours: 20 hours (which may include evening and weekend work). Fixed Term to 30/9/14


Base:  Withernsea Office


Reporting to:  Head of Children, Young People and Families


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth participation Worker to work 20 hours in a small friendly team within the charity organisation Children and Family Action based in Withernsea and Hornsea.

The successful applicant must have a Youth Worker or Social Worker qualification and have the ability to plan, deliver and implement initiatives, record, monitor, evaluate and evidence individual, group and project work sessions which meet the project milestones within the Youth participation Local delivery group funded by the Big Lottery.

They will need to develop and maintain supportive relationships with young people in a range of settings, and recommend and undertake referrals to other agencies when appropriate, following negotiation and discussions with the young person.

They will also need to be responsible for planning and implementing youth provision within in Youth Club setting and be expected to maintain positive relationships working directly with young people, youth teams, and external agencies.

The applicant must have had previous experience of working with young people and have good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.

They must have good inter-personal skills and be able to commute effectively across the locality. Some unsociable and week end working will be expected.


They must have the right to work in the UK and a valid passport will be required. They will be required to work with vulnerable young people and adults so a relevant enhanced CRB check will be expected of the successful candidate.
