Volunteering with Children and Family Action
Without volunteers who give us their time to become Children and Family Action mentors, we would not be able to make such a lasting and positive change to the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
The type of volunteers we need
We are looking for volunteers who have a genuine interest in mentoring children. No particular background or experience is required; however, successful applicants will possess the following qualities:
 a clear, sensitive and friendly style of communication;
 an ability to get on well with children;
 a sense of responsibility and common sense;
 excellent listening skills and patience;
 warmth, enthusiasm and a sense of humour;
 reliability, self-motivation and tenacity.
The mentoring relationship lasts for a year. Each mentor must commit to meeting his/her child once a week during that year. The mentor must also agree to attend monthly meetings with a Chance UK programme manager to review progress and agree priorities for forthcoming mentoring sessions
Without volunteers who give us their time to become Children and Family action mentors, we would not be able to make such a lasting and positive change to the lives of vulnerable children and their families

Helping boys become men

85% of the children we support are boys - boys who would benefit hugely from having a positive mail role model in their lives. To this end, we are constantly looking to recruit male mentors.

If you are interested in becoming a male role model, please download the information brochure and application forms above or contact us by telephone on 01964 615340
